regulated 9v supply into onboard 9v regulator - voltage drop?

Hey there peeps, have just scoured the archives for an hour, with nothing concrete

Can anyone let me know if this would be a problem?

Ideally the box would work with both un and regulated 9v adapters, using a LT1054 to get -9v for +/-9v supply rails, with the circuit drawing no more than 30mah

What does work is un or regulated into lt1054 then 7812 on the + output and 7912 on the - output (also 7815/7915 if the current draw is under *about* 20 mah

Looking for a more space saving solution
