Hi
Got a good deal on  a Metal zone . The last owner used the wrong adapter  the D6 diode exploded! I have subed a Motarla 1N 5472 ( its what I have to work with)  I cant find a data sheet on it. The S5500G is a hi speed switching diode. Will the motarla work?
Thanks

according to this datasheet from knox semicondutors:

http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheet/knox/1N5449.pdf

the 1N5472 is an "abrupt varactor" diode, which I think means it's used in tuning tv's et.al. it is a strange choice for use in a pedal. if it is a series protection diode, use a gp schottky diode for its low V drop, if a reverse biased polarity protection diode, any 1 amp rectifier, like savio says, will do an admirable job.
