I have a pedal I'm builing and and the schem is for dc jack in only and I'd like to put a battery clip in the circut so I have the option to use a battery as well. I'm at the place where I'm ready to pretty much button this project up so the quicker I can figure this out the quicker I can fire this bad boy up. Trying to whip up a single channel KoT clone. thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.

You have another option: connect the battery snap connector to a jack similar to the type used in the wall wart.  The bonus is, if you ever run into trouble such as excess hum or buzz and you suspect the wall wart, you can substitute the battery.  The battery stays outside of the enclosure, but that isn't always a problem.

^I've done this. Just don't forget to unplug the battery when you're not using the pedal.

The folks at beavis audio have this covered. Check it out.

This is the way I do it. I do have a dc plug on a 9volt battery clip for when I test pedals on my bench, and when I take pedals to my brothers house cause he refuses to use anything but a dc plug.

This is how I wire up the battery snap and DC jack in my builds.

Don't know if it's better or worse than any other method.

It's just the way I have always done it because it's JD Sleep's method, and I started out on GGG kits.

Works fine for me.
