I got this pedal in a lot I bought, but I'm not sure what it is.
Thanks!

Can you provide a shot of the back side of the board?

muehring

Do you think a shot of the back of the board will help that much?  I just put knobs on and closed up the box so I'll see if anyone else knows what it is first.  I thought it would be pretty easy for someone to recognize especially since the transistor, pot and cap values are noted.

Next time do it blindfolded John.
I bet you'd still be in with a shot :)

Thanks!  Looks like that's what it is.  I never heard of the Acid Tone before.  It's strange that this is considered a fuzzrite clone comparing it to the fuzzrite layouts that are around.  I think it sounds smoother than the fuzzrite I build, but I'll have to compare them.

What else was in the lot and how much did you pay for it all? and where was it? I'm nosey.  :icon_cool:

Is there a Mahoney Acid Fuzz?

unless I have it mixed up, the Mahoney "Acid Tone" is a Fuzz Rite circuit

and this one is a labeled as "Vintage Fuzz Tone"...and the pcb's for sale on eBay

It's supposedly an FZ-1 with a twist...I guess the twist is silicon

That Vintage Fuzz Tone is the same board.  Being an FZ-1 makes more sense.  Thanks for the help!

The lot was local in Philadelphia from a guy that quit the hobby.  There was a ton of stuff in it, parts, tools a couple partially working pedals like this one.  I made out pretty well it's been keeping me busy for a while.

oddly, it looks like the build instructions are in the eBay listing

if you can't get it working, post a schematic with the values on your board (alter the original below schematic if it's indeed close)

...and post transistor voltages of yours
