Tonepad noise gate

I tried and it don't work.
Has anyone else made it and got it working?
I poured over the build report/mods page and I kinda get most of em but I'd appreciate some help on how best to build it and implement the mods if needs be
I plan to rebuild with tonepad layout this time. Last time did my own layout.

the first thing I'd try is put a trimmer across the 5V1 to feed to the 1M and the fet. you might be able to tune your fet like in a phaser. try 100k, see what is.

ive tried all differant fets with differant forward voltages

all tested from doing the mini phaser and anally marked up . stuck to paper for future referance

I tried the trimmer no joy mate
I read in several post that the 10uf cap to the fet is drawn back words that's my next port of call.
And even some posts say the fet is drawn back words or wrong.
I'm growing impatient with this build
Anyone built a satisfactory vactrols noise gate?

Rich.  Take a look through the other Noise Gate thread you referenced yesterday. I got mine to work but it took a bit of fiddling. Are you using a tone pad board or layout or did you create your own? Is our fet connected properly? I find them to be a pain since the scheme symbol doesn't correspond with the fet's physical layout.

My most recent (yesterday) I did the tonepad layout version 1
I'll check the fet pinout.
I replaced the 680ohm and 1uf with 4.7k and 2u2 had no joy. I've left it as such for now.
I tried duck arses trimmer idea. I'm going to remove it I think.
I was thinking of doing the reversing of the 10uf as noted in other posts.
I've read as many of the threads as I could find on the forum and some people claim to have got it working.
I'm every enthusiastic and would really like to get a working gate.

I switched the 680r/1uf combo to 22k/10uf and reversed the 10uf cap. These changes were key to get mine working.

I did the 22k 10uf mod i think it worked better with a 4k7 i might switch that 22k back out but leave the 10uf.
a little more messing and i think ill have a working unit.
i checked the fet pin out and its right. I might have to mess with differant fets a bit too for testing so it works to its optimimum.
