Does PnP blue "go off"?

Sorry, serious question, I have some Press-n-Peel blue that would be about 10 years old. Does anyone know if it deteriorates or gives less satisfactory results over time?

(Cue jokes about hearing the difference between new and vintage NOS PnP....  ;-)

Thanks,

Ian.

It should be fine. I bought a bunch about 5 years ago that I'm still working through. Even with scratches it still works without an issue.

I guess it's a bit like rub-on transfers.  If it has been stored properly, e.g., in an envelope in a drawer, then it should work fine.  If it has been allowed to get dry, or has been exposed to heat over time, then its possible some of the blue emulsion might flake off or the acetate sheet might be a little stiff or warped, and not enjoy a comfortable smooth ride through whatever printer or photocopier you use.

But those are just maybes.  My guess is that it will be fine.

Great, I'll give it a go. It's been stored in a filing cabinet sealed in a zip lock plastic bag. It costs $7 a sheet locally! (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=HG9980)

I bought it back when I was interested in microcontrollers and robotics, but never got around to using it. It's funny how hobbies reinvent themselves and intertwine with other interests. I must say I'm loving learning about effects, and the community is wonderful  ;D

Hi ic.

The Jaycar price is ridiculous.

Nearly bought some by accident, I thought it was a pack of ten  :icon_eek:
