So far so good.
I tried a couple of pots /resistors and i like
decay  ;A100k pot+10k      tried 50k+10k wasnt bad too
Attack  ;B500R pot   tried 1k ,2k 5k with 100R
Its much more tweekable (if thats a word)
thanks Gary

If you tweeked it, then it's a word!   :D

Just finished the offboard wiring and it works first time out.
Excellant job Mustachio.
the layout works a treat.
Right.
Question time.
Can it have a decay mod like the DrQ one?
Can it have an attack mod "     "     "       ?
In high mode is is supposed to sweep downwards too? can i change the rate at which it sweeps?
thanks
guys

R14 (680) controls attack - try a 1K-2K pot in series with a smaller resistor (220-100).  R15 (47K) controls decay - try a 50K-100K pot in series with a smaller resistor (22K-10K).  These are the two resistors that connect to Q3 base.  Sweep is the same (up?) in Hi or Lo mode.  The sweep rate is the combination of attack and decay.

D00d  :icon_eek: That's Awesome!

And yeah it only sweeps up , To me the high low switch is pointless I only Use High mode. Low mode might be more suited for a fender rhodes.

Very cool explanation on the mods

Kipper great you got it going and tested the mods well done sir, Well done!

I guess if the low mode is maybe only usable for bass or Rhodes it's possible to eliminate some of the parts count and streamline the build.

I believe high mode just adds in 1 cap and 1 resistor , So to have only high mode you would probably leave every thing except the switch. I've been reworking the pcb layout in eagle , and have been thinking about leaving out the switch. Also have a couple smd lm13700's, so I was thinking of making a mini 1 knob no switch version. If/when I get em done ill post em! Might have to rework a pcb for the mods as well :)

I'm happy to see you guys getting this going and expanding on it!

Btw Jim the madbean kraken might be worth a look as it's very similar to this and includes the mods. Just might need a bit of tweeting with the ic's

anyone tried a 'down sweep' ?..

From experience, a downsweep/upsweep switch works much better on envelope filters circuits where you can control lots of other parameters, e.g. the lovetone meatball. When switching over to downsweep, I usually need to tinker with the sensitivity, decay, resonance and intensity controls to get the best response.

Oh Yeah I seen the Kraken, I forgot about the mods and controls mentioned in the build doc. It looks real nice ! Madbean always has cool stuff !

Yeah I'm not really sure about adding a down mode. I know a lot of people like down mode. I'm not one of them haha but tomato potato . But I remember looking at the geofex article

http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/ecftech/ecftech.htm

And in the bottom schematic it shows the envelope detector circuit and the mode is drawn in the down sweep mode. Not sure how this could be implemented with the envelope detector in the micro V , but maybe some one will figure it out.
