Hello,

I've been checking out these amps:

and i've been wondering if there is a way to achieve that breakup distortion type in non-tube effects / amplifiers. I searched around, but I couldn't find relevant info - at least to me.
I started experimenting with a big muff, but I stopped, since asking more knowledgeable people first seems like a better idea. :)

I also have a fender Fm100H (same as 212r) amplifier that I've successfully modded around the distortion part and the "mid contour" part - if there's any way to achieve that effect with opamps, I can give it a shot.

Another thing would be building a pedal from scratch, as long as its not too complicated.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

search for the "orange citrus", "orange" and just "citrus"

this is probably a good place for you to start though since you mentioned Green

At the end of the day, you're still playing through *insert your amp here* and that will play a huge role in defining your tone when interacting the pedal you're trying to track down.
Unfortunately, I've found that most of the time - there is no substitute for the amp!  :icon_cry:
I can't think of anything funny just yet.

Hello,

Thanks to both of you!

@wildebelor: Yeah, I totally agree, but probably i didn't express myself correctly:  My idea was to try and incorporate the "breaking up" characteristic into another sound setup. So what i'm after is that breakup effect, what's causing it and how it can be reproduced. If i could get it to appear in my muff or in my fm 100, I'd say i have found my sound :D

@Derringer: Thanks for taking the time to search for the thread & schematics there, I'll check them out asap and see what knowledge sticks with me :). If i cant figure it out how to cause that effect in other circuits... well, I will just try and build the stuff i find on that thread, or any other related  threads. :)

Thanks a lot!
