I've had a look here and to my eyes the j113 and 2n5952 don't seem to far from each other

It depends on what you are intending on using the JFET for.

Variable resistor for phaser? Similar VGS off is what you want to look for.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)
