Was testing out some opamp circuits, when all of a sudden the circuit stops working. I gave the opamp a nudge as it looks like it had been moved slightly out of position.

The opamp got ridiculously hot and I unplugged everything before the other components got damaged.

Has anyone else had problems with breadboards, specifically Radioshack ones, crapping out? This is a first for me, so I was quite surprised when it happend.

Not, but I've had problems with them eventually wearing out.  On my older ones, I need to push the terminals back in tight, from the rear.   If a component isn't seated properly, you could get symptoms like you described,   I've also noticed a lot of capacitive issues here and there, but probably unrelated to your problem.

You could use jumpers on your DMM, plugged into it, to test whether you get shorts if you move them around...
