hello everyone
I'm looking for something like this:
http://4albeco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Stainless-Steel-Carriage-Bolts.jpg

The name should be carriage bolts. I'm from Italy so that's why I don't know the right name in english for those bolts.
My requirements are:
- rounded head with no slots, like on the photo
- small diameter, maximum 6mm o 7mm (head diameter)
- nut required (so no rivet)
- brass (or similar) looking material, but it's not mandatory

I can't find those bolts here in Italy, do you know any online store where I can find them? or maybe a name-keyword to find them on Mouser.com
thank you :)

The standard name is carriage bolt in the US.

What length are you looking for?
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Thank you, carriage bolt is exactly what I need but do they exist in brass or similar and with such small head diameter?

GibsonGM

Yes, I have seen them here in the U.S.  You don't have them in a hardware store in Italy?

nope..I only found them larger than 10mm head diameter and really long. Is there an online hardware store where I could get some of those?

I'm pretty sure I have a few out in the shop. If not I'm sure I could find some locally for ya.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

Bronze/brass ones seem to be available from a lot of marine vendors so if hardware stores don't have what you want, (never noticed brass ones in the average hardware store here) check with your local boat/marine suppliers.

When I was working in the amusements (pinball/video games) industry nearly 20 years ago, smaller coach bolts (4mm in japanese gear and 8-32UN in American stuff) were very common, usually to secure panels for things like coin validators, so you could also look to the amusements repair industry if you only need a few (if you need thousands, China may be your next step -as usual, almost anything can be bought if you have enough money!).

I'd suggest search terms like 'cup head', 'cup square head', 'coach bolt', 'mushroom head', and 'DIN 603' (as well as 'carriage').

These are M4 (4mm) thread, so the head may still be too big for your application:  http://www.giz10p.co.uk/Cabinet-Parts/Fixings/m4-x-16mm-Chrome-Carriage-Bolt-6-Pack-/prod_176.html Smaller than M4 are harder to come by I think :(

The various types of security (e.g. torx) or hex cap (allen) screws may not be what you want (everybody has a set of security drivers these days), but they may be worth a look if it's just for the apearance.

buona fortuna il mio amico...

Maybe a small machine parts distributor like McMaster-Carr.  I don't know if they ship to you (Italy).  But a good source for sundrie hardware needs.

I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

To get such a small head diameter you're probably looking at an M3 or M4 thread. I have never seen coach bolts in such small sizes.  You might have to settle for button-head screws...

My search came up empty. Even the hardware store yielded no results.
