Thoughts on stereo amplifier

I have a set of TANNOY speakers that are passive I used to use for a monitoring in my studio but since have upgraded and they have kind of just been sitting here... collecting dust (shameful really).
Contemplating building an amplifier to power them, what are some suggestions?

Question: chip amp or discrete amp?

I'm really not too sure!
Most of the time I would like to keep parts down, but if I can build something fairly decent it's of no concern.
