Wampler...Metal Distortion

I have read through Brians book about a thousand times and now would like to put together some of the circuits he has diagramed in the book. I am very interested in the Metal Distortion that uses a 386 IC to feed a 4558. I will use a TL072 as I do not have any 4558's.

Has anyone built this? Can you provide any sound clips?
