I have had no problem etching pcb boards in past but not much luck with etching enclosures.
I recently stumbled on someones thread where they said they used an inkjet printed vinyl  and stuck it on the enclosure then laquured it.
Ive got a good laser colour printer and wondered if anyone could usggest if a laser printer is suitable for this and any recommended media for printing?

ive had pretty good results with ironing (black) toner directly onto boxes, and then clearcoating...i had to rub any fibres off the toner well or it goes grey after a while....but its a quick and nifty way of labelling/design etc..

but ive been curious as to what a colour toner would come out like ironed on a prepared box....(sorry not was you was asking really), but i would be sorely tempted to try it if i had a colour laser printer...might be cool.  8)

i was going to give it a go but everytime i use a peel n press for a larger etch i can only get about 85% , so thats what led me to researching the vinyl sticker stuff

this sort of thing

i was hoping that someone here had used it before or could recommend brand or advice

I use A4 vinyl stickers with a colour laser printer - you can get a 4 stickers per page version which is a good size for stompboxes. Lacquers up much better than paper stickers, and looks good as a 'full face' solution.

Without knowing where you're based it's hard to recommend a supplier but if you google 'a4 vinyl stickers laser printer' you should find what you need.
