Powering 2 fx in 1 box

Hi, I'm using 2 different schematics and combining them in the same 2 layer PCB.
I want to make a common GND plane and on the other layer a 9V plane.
Will combining the 2 fx with the same 9V supply create any issues?
Is it OK to use one diode as a reverse polarity protection for both fx? Or should I use separate ones?

Thanks!

No matter how many fx you wan't to put into a box. Just make sure you've got enough power to supply them.
I have such a platform for GND and +V right next to my power supplier in my multifx where all cables from effects come in.
Almost every effect has it's own protection diode and everything is working with no problems.

You can think of it as the two circuits just being a bigger single circuit. The components that connect to GND and V+ are hanging out the same way in one big circuit as they do two smaller ones. Trouble can happen when you have ticking circuits like LFO's and need to be isolated, but that is common even within one circuit.

It's the amps that you have to account for. If you are doing two fuzz boxes or something, likely not a problem. If you have a 1spot, it's hardly ever a problem.

I've never had any problems either, but a precaution that might make sense is to add a 10u or whatever cap across the power supply leads where they enter each board/effect.   Like a small reservoir for current demands, to decouple.   Probably not needed, as mth said LFO-based circuits tend to be the ones that cause spikes and stuff.

You're doing the diode in parallel and not series, right?
