I'm using a yellow LED taped to a couple of LDRs, and a 100k-B to control the LED,
another 10k-B pot to set the maximun brightness when the 100k-B is at zero,
and a 1k resistors to prevent burning the LED:

vcc---1k---10kB---100kB---LED---gnd

LDRs should go from 100k or more to 1k or less

The control resistors speed are critical. But I'm varying resistors manually, or should I say footually :)

[aged_rant]arrrghhh, imageshack! I just want to save the bleeding jpg from there, I can't fathom the bloody icons. scripting, whose idea was that?[/aged_rant]

I was going to ask what the circuit looks like now, but you've stuck a bit there for me to see, and say R5 and R4 are tangled in their own connections. also (now) R3 is not needed if still connected to the output of the first buffer.

if yr on the bredboard, kipper, you could try using the last section of lm324 to drive the 2 leds like in the diagram I sent the other. input to the opamp straight from C1. is this a "bright - going dim" or a "dim- going bright" setup?

Hey Duck Arse
It's a dim going bright set up
and I'm only using the lm324 for the SRV. haha So there are no spare oppys on the LM324.
I know the schemo isnt perfect but I didnt have a lot 7f time to get it posted before I started work again.
I'm still on the breadboard. If I get time later I'll test out the 2xLDR to yellow LED trick with the tape.
I put R3 in there because of Pauls suggesting it in the earlier correction so that pin 5 of jrc4558 (IC1 B) knows where it wants to be.
I may just try to remove it and see if it improves anything.
Cheers me dear

Use D3 to light a pair of LDR taped to it.
And a switch in case you want both or just one LDR connected, what changes the form of the BP curves.

Thanks Mac I'll give it a go later.

Goddam my lm324 was fried, after spending hours. I swapped it for a TL074 found the problem only to run into another and gave up for the night.
I'll be back.

Try a limiting resistor across the LDR, 47k - 100k. The SFV need not some LDR full range.
