Just add 2 back to back diodes after the last JFET and before Vol pot.  Gives you some more distortion but still sounds really good.  Of course it cuts the volume but this pedal is so hot anyway.

Another simple mod that I've done is to add a 1uf source bypass cap on the first stage for more gain. On mine it is switchable and sounds great!

Yep, you can add bigger caps as well, but it will change the eq of that stage as well a bit.
