Pt-80 with 2 x pt2399??

Hey.
Some time ago, i built a pt80 from the schematic on the GGG website, and i like it quite a bit.
But i would like to make a new one with possible longer delay times.
Ive seen designs that use two pt2399s to do that (and read posts of people trying out 3-4 chips even)
But none of those designs seems to use a compander like the  pt80.
Iwonder how easy it is to add more chips to the existing pt80 design.
Any thoughts?
