adding a center detent to a potentiometer?

Is is possible to take apart a potentiometer with a center detent and add it to a dual concentric pot? and could I change out the resistivity of just one section?

For the Alpha duals, you can pretty much only change out the top (outside) wafer without breaking it. So you could switch out the top wafer for a center-detent, which may be enough for the whole thing to feel like it has a detent.

I was looking into cts pots because you don't have to destroy the crimp on plastic to take it apart.
