where can i get this wire from??? and does it have a specific name?

ive looked in the usual places, alibaba /ebay/ jaycar etc

its that real thin wire you find in earphones etc
does it have a specific name or something,
or where i could buy some?

I've never seen that commercially, just in headphones. The inside wires are lacquered, which can make them very annoying with soldering. The best way I found to work with this stuff is using a torch to strip (ie burn off) the insulating lacquer - trick is you have to be as hot as you can get it, *just* under scorching the copper away. They are not coaxial, which may be a problem in our world.

If I needed a less-than-infinite supply, I'd buy cheap headphones and sacrifice them for science.

I've done this with RCA stereo connector cables when I needed shielded cable in the middle of the night before.  :icon_biggrin:

ha I have a bag in my closet full of old cables just in case i need to some wire. old cat5, telewire, old chargers.

Stranded wire with each strand insulated is called Litz wire.

I suppose this would be called Litz cable.

Just to pile on: I would NEVER use this wire if there was anything else I could use instead - it's an absolute pain to work with.
