Despite the thread title, this isn't a post-chainsaw-incident anatomical question, nor a request for some kind of obscene tomfoolery. After months of having the following issue, i figured who better to ask than you lot? long rant, bear with me:

finding the right knobs for things has seriously been one of the biggest challenges for me in making stompboxes, even more so than sourcing obscure pots. at the moment, for aesthetic and practical reasons, my parametric EQs need a certain type of narrow, chrome/silver-coloured knobs for 6mm splined/split shafts. no doubt some of you have seen this variety before - they're available in black and gold as well, and in different diameters. here's a pic:

...now, i know where to get these knobs either in low quantities or in bags of FACTORY F****** DEFECTS, and i've bought and used (cherry-picked) loads before, but the inconsistency could probably be resolved by me knowing a few keywords about model name or manufacturer. just something beyond "13mm silver 6mm knob splined" or a variation thereof (they're sometimes listed as 12mm, but i think that's measuring the base instead of the widest point). i get the feeling they're generic and oft-counterfeited or something. all i know is that some company called Daier might make/copy them, and that "silvertone" sometimes produces results.

so: can anyone help me out with any leads? the great DoctorTweek is unfortunately out of action for now - he had loads of them. i need about 60 or so. specs are 13mm diameter x 17mm height for 6mm shafts. alternatively, this type would also be fine:

i could get a bunch from AliExpress again, which wouldn't cost THAT much, but waiting weeks for half a bag of pots with off-centre marker lines and scraggy of metal shavings isn't ideal. t'is the nature of the beast when using that source, but i have to say 75% of my transactions have been great.

using those fine-tipped Sharpies works great for marker lines, btw!

thanks a lot for any help!

Think I've seen those top ones in a local parts/hobby store.  Nowhere online that I recall tho.

I find it's best to not be too picky about these things (unless you're replacing a lost knob off some name brand thing you're concerned about the resale value of).

i really am cornered here. with 10 knobs so close together, the limited area for numbering around the knobs, the metric splined shaft (so much more options for 1/4" of all types), the cost for a bunch, and the chrome colour of footswitches and bolts to match without it looking weird, these are among my only options. i've made ONE with set-screw knobs and bits of metal to prevent the shaft splitting, but that's a major pain.

Fuzzdog & PedalParts, eh? cheers! i think i even know of the last one, dunno why i didn't check it out. i'll go to both right now.

thanks a lot for the input guys!

they're for this guy and a 1-band variant. the only dual PCB-mount C100k pots i can reasonably get hold of for the Frequency controls have 6mm splined shafts, else i'd just be using solid-shaft ones from Smallbear or something.

I didn't read through the whole thread but....I think I know what you're looking for.

I've purchased the gold knobs from this seller in the past.

The quality is good.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

thanks, Larry. i just ordered from PedalParts, but i've bookmarked that seller, too, as their price is decent. i took a bit of a risk on the PedalParts buy, as the site says they're for 6.3mm shafts, but i have a gut feeling that's an error, based on having bought these from 3 sources previously (2 in the UK) and they've all fit fine on 6mm. time for a disaster!
