I am using DIYLC 3.40.0 currently

I added an image as a background
Now I am trying to grab the corner and re-size it to the length and height that I need?
Just like you can do to a board in DIYLC

I can't see any way to adjust it independently, horizontally and vertically
The scaling image function does no good, that scales the whole image equally

I am used to CAD programs where you can adjust the image container and the image scales inside the container
Is this something that the software author has on a to-do list (I hope) ;D

Maybe I am missing something here?

This is another quirky thing I have found

When I add an image that is 10 inches wide and 72 pixels per inch, the image is not 10 inches long in DIYLC

It end up about 3.15 inches wide in DIYLC

It looks as though the program is not using 72 dots per inch?
Maybe some other resolution?

Are you Doug Hoffman?  (Are we allowed to ask that?)

Nevermind, I see that you already mentioned that you are.  Long time (though small-time) customer of yours, going back to about '96 or so.

Just throwing this info out.

A few years ago, just me replying to another post (on a forum called tdpri) got me banned because I did not pay them to post there.
Even though I was just replying to a question and nothing to do with promoting my business :)
So, I am just here as another user of DIY layout creator :)

It seems it's difficult to get Bancika's attention
And this forum seems to be actively using his software
So here I am asking questions :)

No sense comes from groups of control-freaks.  Of course, if you called yourself Newbie1985 everything would be fine. ;D

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.

If you think you have found bugs, I'm sure Bancika would appreciate you filing them at GitHub: https://github.com/bancika/diy-layout-creator/issues. It's probably a lot easier for him to track problems there than everywhere else.

I will report this as a bug

In the mean time I have found a work around
Just throwing out info here in case someone likes to use background images of layouts when creating boards

Most images are 72 pixels per inch or 28 pixels per cm
If you have a 10 inch wide image at 72 pixels per inch and then add it to DIYLC, it will only be 3.6 inches wide in DIYLC
The image scale slider set at max of 254% will only make your image 9.13 inches wide
So the image scale slider cannot make the image 10 inches wide

To make a 10 inch wide image show as 10 inches wide in DIYLC
You have to multiply the image width x 2.78
So 10 inches x 2.78 = 27.8 inch wide image
Adding a 27.8 inch wide image to DIYLC will give you a 10 inch wide image in DIYLC

You can also change the pixels per inch to 200 px per inch and then resize your image to 10 inches wide
A 10 inch wide image at 200 pixels per inch will display as 10 inches wide in DIYLC

I do all the image manipulation in paint Shop Pro

You can use the image scale slider to fine tune your image width if it is really close to what you want

Here's a DIYLC screen shot image demonstrating the info above
