So, yesterday it decided to stop working, didn't have any problems with it before.
When I plug in the guitar it turns on, showing G, STD and so on, but when I press the bypass switch to engage, the relay inside just clicks really fast and it flashes a single red LED.
Tried google but only found one thread with the same unanswered question.
Anybody here familiar with these pedals? Could it maybe be a broken bypass-switch?

probably smoked part of the power supply. if it has any socketed chips, try reseating them, works with their nova delay

Mine stopped working when it was 18 months old. I called TC to ask how I could get it repaired and they surprised me by saying it was covered by a 2 year warranty and then sent me a new one. Just mentioning it in case yours isn't too old

that's hip, bro
when my nova delay crapped out, they had me send it back, "repaired" it, then sent it back to me. the same issue happened again. i contacted them, they said i was on my own. i was like, screw it, them asshats will never get another dime of my money!!!

5 years later, after ditching the polytune and nova delay, i bought a polytune mini. go figure. works better than the full size one, and doesn't make weird noises come out of my amp when i'm tuning like the full size did. win-win

That's good to know. Mine makes the same stupid noises and I could always do with more space on the pedalboard. Just bought another TC - the MojoMojo as it was on offer here in the UK. It is simply stunning with one guitar and one amp (fortunately my favourites) but pretty average on everything else I have. Still worth the £35

Had this tuner for about 7 years so no warranty left. All surface mount chips in this one.
Also have an old boss tuner so I'll be fine without it, but kind of liked it.

in the nova delay, its the easiest to get at "keystone" memory chip or processor or whatever... looks like a cell phone sim card kinda, like a rectangle with one edge notched off. if the delay craps out, pull the chip CAREFULLY and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser and re seat the chip. should work til the next time if @#$%s up.

just curious, but did ya try the circuit disturbance test on the polytune?
jack darr approved, and i used it just recently to fix a malfunctioning maxon ad999 analog delay.

you know... circuit disturbance?
aka
bash the @#$% out of it against the floor... its already broken, so, little to lose.. sometimes, that will make shit work again, or at least lead you to clues what's wrong! ;)

So an update is in place. Decided to just leave the tuner in a dusty corner for all eternity.
Buut.. for some reason I tried the pedal today again, and yes, yes, dusty corners are apparently magic. Tuner works again.
Same one spot same everything. If it happens again I'll throw it out the window first, and Then ask for help!
