Non-copper plated PCB

I need a cheep form of PCB board that does not have copper plating on the outside, for PTP circuits such as turret boards.  I don't know what they are called but I figured I would ask where I could find some in various sizes, even large enough where I could cut the exat size myself.

I don't feel like buying a single sided board and sanding off the copper.  Too messy and too much work.

The commonest circuit board materials today are FR1, FR2, FR4 and CEM1.

FR1 and FR2 are phenolic resin/cellulose  materials. They're the same a the old tan phenolic resin circuit boards, but with added fire retardant (FR...) chemicals added.

FR4 is fiberglass-epoxy woven mat with added fire retardant chemicals, equal to the old G-10 (Glass...) material but made less burnable.

CEM1 is fiberglass mat, non-woven base with fire retardant chemicals and an epoxy binder. It's light tan color.

You can usually get any of these materials at a plastics supply house. There is a plastics supplier in practically every city over 200,000 people, and many smaller ones. There are plastics suppliers on line.

All of this can be picked up on a search engine in about fifteen seconds.

Forgot the stuff the plastics suppliers have will be without copper entirely - exactly what you want. They won't have copper clad in most cases.

I thought this thread was about how to make printed circuit boards (IOW circuit boards with a transferable conductive pattern) from other materials than typical copper plated boards.

Like 3D printing turrets and blank boards. Or something equally fascinating.

Dissapointed. Since when have blank circuit boards been "printed"? Anyway, I'm happy that OP received the information he came looking for.

I've been google searching for quite some time (long before this thread appeared) using terms, FR4, garolite, unclad pcb, 1/16" unclad & anything else i could think of and gotten nowhere. Found an ebay seller with one item.

But do know Banzai has some 2mm coloured maybe garolite and Digikey has a 12" x 12" 1/16' that was in stock last i looked. London Power also used to sell 1/16" board.

Have noticed in the past  FP4 and garolite listed at the local plastic store i use but haven't inquired.

McMaster Carr has 1/8" for sure (but not for Canada), they would probably have 1/16".

If you're okay with copperless perfboard, Veroboard in Vancouver has it in phenolic and epoxyfiber.

Thanks R.G. , hadn't searched with that group of terms up to this point, finding the correct ones is the battle!

This is my 'walk to' plastic supplier if anyone's in the area. Industrial laminates has the goods.
