The punch is faster, and works very well!  Plus, there is no dust, which is bad for you :)
Why no dust is bad for me? I think its good! Don't make me sneeze.  ;D

Have you tried the punch on FR-4 boards, or just phenolic? I'm wondering if it would work on fiberglass.
I only tried in phenolic  :( I am sorry! But i really think it works in fiberglass too. When i bought it, i no resist and try to make holes in all i could find. Since paper to lead ribbons. Ever work right.

Thanks, Giovanny. It appears to only be available in Brazil. They even have it on the Brazil Walmart website.
Yes, i know. But i can create an eBay announce if you want one.

^ I think those leather punches only go down to 2mm. Here's a jewelry punch that is 1mm. I haven't seen a 0.8mm punch yet.

Seems me a bit unstable. Seems me is not a thing specify to PCBs. Maybe can cracks the phenolic paper, no?

So! Let me know any questions! :D I will answer!
That's all, Folks!

Unfortunately they don't. On fiberglass boards (which are more flexible, "viscous"), you get little lumps but the tool can't manage to go all the way to break through the fiber.

So, AFAIK (and I tested it) it only works with phenolic boards.

But I'm shocked that none of you knew about this punching method. It's advertised on Brazilian electronics magazines since the early seventies!

I believe Brazil has a pretty closed economy. They have insane import laws (like 40% tax).

^Brazil's economy must be pretty closed because China apparently hasn't gotten wind of this device. If they had, we'd all have purchased one by now.

Be careful what you promise! I don't know what city Giovanny lives in and can't recall which city Aron lives in, but I did a quick estimate using UPS and using Rio de Janeiro and Honolulu. Shipping just one unit would cost over $100 US!

Hey Travis, why don't you take a trip down there to visit Giovanny and see if you can get a dozen back through customs. Don't forget your Zika mosquito spray!

Not that dramatic. Shipping 1.5 kg of stuff through our Federal Mail sustem (www.correios.com.br) costs USD 30.

I think a dozen, or at least 10, PCB punchers should "fit" in a 1.5 kg package.

As for the closed economy, compared to the 70's and 80's we are blatantly free-market privatizing liberals :D

During the 80's you had to ask permission to the government to buy RAM for your computer.

^That's not bad if it includes the duties. The UPS price above includes duties.
