Hello, there
I have a newbie question to anyone who can help.

I have an old version Cusack tap a phase and i want to use it's tap tempo switch to control the tempo of an Electro Harmonix Memory Man 1100 at the same time.

The Memory Man already has a TAP IN input, so i am thinking that connecting a regular jack on
Cusack's tempo switch, parallel with the existing connection, will do the trick. Am i wrong here?

I know that the newer versions of Cusack tap a phase already have this functionality.
A TAP IN/OUT input to control the tap tempo, so i guess it's not that difficult to do.

Thanks in advance to anyone in this community who can help!!!

from the MM manual (a friend of mine in pro studio gear loves to say, in his best Japanese-English, "read the f***ing book!):
QuoteThe external switch should be normally open. Upon engaging
the switch, it should create a short circuit between the Tip and Sleeve of the plug
inserted into the TAP SW jack on the DMMTT

it depends on what the cusack circuit expects from the tap-tempo switch. a 5V signal, a short to ground, something else? without a schematic or info from the manual, it's hard to say. any momentary switch can be wired to itself and be used as the tap tempo for the EHX, but unless you take apart your tap a phase or find a schematic, you can't be sure how the cusack detects tempo. maybe take the lid off and poke around, take some pics? write them an email describing what you want to do, who knows, they might respond.

oh yeah, and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
