Hey, has anyone used these enclosures? I havent heard anyone bring sparkfun up, but they look really nice and are cheap. 4.95 for what looks like a 1590b and 5.95 for 1590bb. They have a nice looking brushed aluminum look. Anyway im fixing to order a couple, just wanted to share.

Thanks for the share. Let us know how they are when you get them.

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.

Will do, im wanting to build a fuzz factory. So im holding off at the moment while i figutre out if i want to do it like the original or top mounted pots. Ive heard alot of people dont seem to like the orientation of this pedal, but for some reason i like it, Im wanting to try Aion pcbs, but theres are top mounted and the 9mm pots which cost more. Tayda has a pcb but i cant see paying 9 bucks , when aions is 8, then more on shipping, and estimated ship time said 14-21 business days. I so wanna load up on stuff from them but dont have the patientce to wait that long. Funny though as ive ordered some 2n5089s, dc jacks, and few other things that say nothing about tayda, and come from idk ohio or something and when i get package its from tayda, the card inside and the stuff is all labled tayda. Wish i knew which items they have here in the us, as shipping is always free, price is cheap, not as cheap as there actual website, and i always have gotten it in 3 days. I orderd some veroboard off ebay hoping it would work out the same way but tracking says thailand post, so i guess come spring time ill have it lol. Prob just gonna do the fuzz factory on vero. But im getting one of each of those enclosures so as i do make anorder. Im just suprised at price, and shipping for 2 was like 3 bucks. I havent found them cheaper anywhere, well maybe some on ebay but quality of these look better. I paid 7 bucks for a BB copy on ebay plus few bucks in shipping and seemed like i was getting  a deal.

I bought one from a place in Toronto that carries a lot of other Sparkfun stuff.  The finish is okay, but not fabulous.  I also found the enclosure walls were a little bit thinner.  Not enough to compromise their rigidity, but they may introduce a tiny bit of error for those who meticulously plan out PCBs for 1590Bs.  On mine the bottom plate and main chassis do not line up as well as on a Hammond box.  It's a minor cosmetic thing, but if you paint or powder-coat your boxes, the gap makes it look a little cheaper.

Still, once you build a lot, you tend to become more interested in volume costs for yourself than in the cosmetics.  If I was making pedals commercially, and trying to charge prices that would cover my overhead and living expenses, I would probably not use them as they would tend to elicit responses like "$259 for that?".

Look, Mammoth Electronics has another site that sells vape mods.

Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

I decided screw it, got me a 1590b Red Hammond off ebay for 12.50, actually 9 something and like 2.75 shipping, ordered it suday at alike 3 am and itll be here thursday. If u factory in cost of material to do finishing on a pedal its just cheaper. Even if i already had materials ive just worn myself out on trying to do every aspect of every build myself. Theres really only a few pedals that i really want bad. A lot of this hobby has turned into enjoying the building process, the challenge, the feeling that goes along with finally get it to work, then not really using the finished product to much. Of course im doing this as a hobby on a tiny scale. If u order in bulk and are making $ its a different story.
