I like to stare at UV lamps :icon_eek: they really are beautiful!

Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

what about infrared LEDs, can I stare into those at least?!

i was doing post on a feature length film that was recorded so poorly during production that i spent more time on it than the picture editor. i couldn't bare to look at a screen for days after that project. somehow i suspect, with all our modern-world screen-time, LEDs are not going to be what makes us blind.

Infrared can be more dangerous for your eyes than UV - UV damage becomes self-limiting as you generate photochemical cataracts, while near IR can boil the back of your eye!
In any case, you can't see in the IR - you're not an insect are you garcho? - so I can't see that being much fun.

I got that wrong - insects can see into the UV, but not the IR.
Perhaps the OP could test their UV LEDs with cockroaches though...
