Any recommendations for UK parts sellers?...

I'm particularly looking for a good seller of carbon composition resistors & old school axial capacitors. Preferably someone with a wide selection from very small to good, high values.

I'm looking at building a handful of Meathead clones on tagboard & am trying to buy all my caps & resistors from one or two sellers at the most, to cut down on postage.

Also, are Farnell considered cheap or expensive? They seem to have most of what I need, except for the odd value resistor that's stock in the US. I'll not be paying £15 postage for a 70p part!

I have no experience of buying carbon comp resistors, but I use Farnell regularly - I would consider them fairly cheap for the things I buy from them (not everything that goes into a build) and haven't payed for shipping with them for quite some time.

I've used them a few times before but only when I've been visiting home (Leeds) as they have a trades counter there & I avoid the postage costs.
Saying that though, it looks as though they've changed their policy & now don't charge half as readily as they used to.

I've amassed a long eBay list with a bottom line price. I'll get on the Farnell site & see how they compete, price-wise.

My trouble with the Farnell site is getting the right capacitor lengths. They rarely list them & working it out from the data sheet is a real headache!
