Why is the voltage so low here?

Hi all!

Russ (Cozybuilder) and I have been putzing with the Moonrock for a bit now, and he was nice enough to lend me an original unit recently for a proper trace (and tryout... of course! :icon_wink:). I've gone over it as thoroughly as possible, and here what I've traced;

Note that where I marked "all pots at max", that would put the wiper of the B1M adjustment pot on the "OCTAVE" side, if it makes any difference. The thing is, why is Q1 collector voltage so low here? As Russ pointed out, it should be in the 2 to 3 volt range, instead, I'm getting under 1 volt here. What gives?

I'm sending the unit back to Russ now, and when my bench clears, I'll be breadboarding it again, but in the meantime, I thought that maybe one of local Gurus might give us a guiding light here.

The top of Q1 is barely more than 3V.  If you want the bottom to idle about halfway between there and ground, it would be less than 2V.
