Hi folks.

First time poster, long time stalker.

I have had some experience building kits, done a Fuzz Factory and DOD 250 in the past, but now I'm looking to build two of my favourite Bass Drive pedals into one unit.

I'd love the convenience of having both my Fuzzrocious Rat Rail and Demon in one unit, but don't have the scratch right now to order a brand new custom job, and should be able to undertake the job myself. No disrespect to builder(s) of course, they make a damn fine range of drives!

What I'm looking for -

1) To have all of the controls mounted internally - I want to replace all the pots with trimpots, so there's only footswitches on the top of the pedal - a set-and-forget kind of vibe.
2) To have both pedals mounted in a Hammond 1550G, giving lots of space for footswitches - one for each individual pedal and a master bypass.
3) 1x 9v plug to power them.

Only things I'm concerned about are as follows, which I would appreciate advice from the DIY Stompboxes hivemind on....

1) From looking at the internals the PCB is mounted to one of the pots, so if I'm changing to trim pots for the controls I'll have to find another way of anchoring the PCB. Any ideas?
2) Wiring both through together - would this simply be a case of running the output wires to the input of the other?
3) Is there such a thing as trimpot mounting strip so they can all be mounted nicely in one row, or would I need a PCB strip to do this cleanly?
4) Would I be able to wire power cables from the  9v jack plug across both pedals without issue?

Gutshots can can be posted if it will help...

Apologies for some potentially noob-ish questions and thanks for any help!

Mostly replying to follow the thread, but one crazy idea I've had for guitar and pedal is to have trim pots mounted under tiny holes in the case so that I could rapidly tweak them with a small screwdriver or what not but they would be out of the way. As far as anchoring, some people use plastic standoffs  but you need a hole in the pcb for that to work. Gutshots welcome for sure.

As an aside, I wouldn't have NO controls at all. I'd recommend at least having volume controls perhaps mounted on the side or back or something. Unless of course you use the same bass rig every show.. ;)

"2) Wiring both through together - would this simply be a case of running the output wires to the input of the other?" - it depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want to be able to select between the two overdrives then the answer is no, you should add a DPDT footswitch for choosing between the two channels. If you want them cascaded then yes, it's that simple.
