As Dead Astronaut says.
"Still pushing the envelope?"
Yes Sir but this time i'm taking full advantage of envelope ripple.

It's on the breadboard now

It Growls, wahs and snarls like a nasty dog on heat.
Breadboard it if you dare.
I'm not sure it's what I set out to do, but sometime life throws a happy accident your way.

Schematic removed
Edit I will update the schematic. I made a booboo in interpretation from breadboard to schematic.

Heres a little demo orginally intended for Duck Arse. Who I might add is a constant source of
mental humour
mentoring
mental mission creep
Thanks mate.

The demo doesn't do it justice and was just a bit of fun. Not really intended for all but thats how I roll.

You should check out the Roland Funny Cat.  See RG Keen's "Silly Feline" clone of it.  It makes productive use of bad rectification.  The soft distortion option it uses is essentially gain controlled by a JFET using a rectified signal with loads of envelope ripple.  As well, one of the filter modes is essentially a high-ripple envelope.  Some crazy sounds in addition to the sane ones.

duck_arse

you left out "annoyance", rich.

the funny cat, mark, did you have to mention that?
" I will say no more "

Annoying  never  crossed my mind.
Inspiring yes. Annoying  no as Pluto used to say.
Give an A.....

"It makes productive use of a bad rectification."
Do what? What's wrong with my bad wrecker?
In my defence. I borrowed it from Anderton 😀

I upset the filters by using unequal value caps in each and each has a differant tuning slightly.
I also use a fairly strong signal from the transistor collector too.
The array of available sounds is great.
I liked the way the ldr went to Vbias and decided to experiment further with the rectifier biasing ,then carried it on and attached the ldr legs to the same biasing.
I thought originally I was doing some sort of DC offsetting and just carried on hacking while it was on the breadboard. After all it would take me seconds to put it back.
I'm glad I did. It is not what I set out to get but its closer than I've been before so I went with the "happy accident."
I've started to perfboard it using an lm324 quad. Time will tell if what I had on the breadboard is what I'll end up with.
I really hope it works out as planned but sometimes on things on the breadboard connect where they shouldn't.
Wish me luck.....

Yerrrr well.
The LM324 did not fair well as a filter.
Back to the diylc and create a dual chip LM358 and TL072 board.

A few layout and interpretation errors later. I have a compact verified perfboard layout.
It's nasty snarling wah with vowel like sounds.
I used 100k for R8 R14. For a bit less resonance.
100nf charging cap C11.

Can I simply up the value of the output pot to improve output impedance? Or do i need to up the value of the mix pot as well?

I've been funking around again on the breadboard and came up with this!!!!!!!!!!!

Version 2
The Snarl wah. Its a very compressed, distorted, gated, motherfunker.
I might try it without the 3mm red led in the rectifier.

It's kinda off kilter. Misbiased messy but wicked.
If it weren't for misbiased circuits we would never have known some now classics.
Enjoy motherfunkers.
I really need to learn a new lick to bubble to.
