Sorry I know this is for stompboxes and whatnot. But my harp player left his 50's shure green bullet mic behind to see if I could repair it. I was hoping someone could give me some insight on how to go about this. The mic element is good but one ove the 2 leads has been broken off. The ground is still connected to the case screw. So I'm wondering if I can just solder a new connection to the opposite terminal and wire that to a standard guitar cable? And the mesh ground also to the ground screw? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks Mike.

Get clip leads. Try it. You can't hurt it by hollering in the mike connected to a geetar amp.

Especially if this is the dual-impedance (3-terminal) capsule. I don't understand the sheet Russ linked, but there aren't that many possible bad connections.

Open on the bench, it *will* humm/buzz. Get decent sound over the crap, then try to sort out the grounding as you put the case back together.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think the diagram that cozybuilder posted is for later green bullet models as this one only has two terminals from the element. I think I'll give it a shot with your idea PRR, I figure two terminals can't be to hard to figure out... but then I've never worked on a Mic before. Anyway I'm gona see if my Singer/harmonica player can find the lost pieces that he accidentally ripped out in a drunken stupor, and see if I can make those missing connections. Still can't believe there isn't a decent diagram online for a 50's green bullet. Anyway thanks for your help guys, I'll post again if it works out!
