Hey, guys!
long time surfer but I for some reason just got around to creating an account.
my name is Colin and i've been building and designing stompboxes for around 6 years now and I have been having issues with my latest build.

Essentially I wanted to build a pedal that makes everything pristine before hitting everything else in my chain so I incorporated a k*** style buffer that feeds into a Flatline style optical compressor then through a FET clean boost and i'm having issues with the compression section.  I'm pretty much using the Hollis Flatline optical compressor design but when I turn up the sustain to anything past 9 oclock, I start getting an unpleasant crackle in the signal, i tracked this down to the full bridge rectifier (1n34A diodes) and those are being pretty heavily overdriven.  I'm still a bit new to the process of PCB layout so i'm pretty sure its not supposed to do this.  I built close to this same circuit from the Madbean afterlife and didnt have this issue.  It only came up when I used the PCB i designed incorporating all three designs into one board.  the isolated the buffer and the boost and its definitely coming from the compressor section.

any thoughts?

I look forward to getting in touch with the wealth of knowledge this forum has to offer and any assistance to this problem will be greatly appreciated!
