Hey guys, so I recently decided to take on building a Maestro FSH-1 clone. The thing is, though, is that once it's done, I know that I'd only ever use the sample & hold setting. I have several other envelope filters that I find to be far superior, judging by sample clips on youtube. On top of that, it's not easy trying to fit 5 pots and a switch into a 1590BB. So I redrew tonepad's schematic in eagle, and left out everything connected to the filter side of the switch. My question is, would the circuit still function the same way without those bits? My intuition says yes, but it's not like I've never run into anything counterintuitive while building a pedal. And honestly, I just find breadboarding too tedious and annoying. Any thoughts?

I did exactly what you describe, and it works fine. I haven't been over the schematic, so I'm assuming you have transcribed it accurately from the original FSH1 schematic, but if you have just removed the envelope detector and associated switching you'll be left with a S+H bandpass filter.

I think that's all I need to hear. Thanks man!
