Line 6 DL4 a switching issues

I recently replaced the switches on my 13 year old Line 6 DL4 delay with some soft touch momentary switches from mammoth. I tested it before I put everything back in the chassis and it worked perfectly. But now, with everything put back together, it is recreating the original problem I had, where only the B switch works, and the others turn on the preset in the B slot.

My first thought, and it may be the case, was that the switches are shorting against the circuit board. I wrapped each one in electrical tape,but the problem is still there.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm sure I installed the new switches correctly, because everything works when the guts are plugged in outside the chassis.
Are there any common areas for shorts to occur?

I haven't but i've done quite a few of these switch upgrades. There are a few things that you might want to take into consideration.

-The new switches need to have enough clearance in the chassis. typically the switches have two nuts make sure there is nothing on the shaft when installing the switch. If there is, it will not allow you to mount the board properly.

-Make sure the wires are mounted on the solder side (the side with the EEPROM) of the board. If you solder them in from the component side this too will prevent you from mounting the board properly.

-Also you only need to use 2 of the 4 pads for the switch. One top and One bottom.

I did solder on the component side,so I'm sure that's rating up some clearance. I'll try to move those to the other side of the board.

When you say make sure nothing is on the shaft, do you mean you remove one of the nuts? Or do you just mean nothing extra (washers, etc)?

Make sure there is nothing extra. No nuts but if you have a lock washer that should be fine. There is very little space for these switches to sit in there. It will make the switch look a little weird sticking up out of there. When I replace these I typically use these

They have a much shorter shaft and don't stick out as far as the others.
