C8 is currently 1.5nF as is c4,5 and 13 i also tried removing c9:)

i just realised i have also lowered c5 to 1.5nf which is part of the capacitor divider network! i have upped that to 3.2nf and it seems much better:) now to remove some of the other changes and see if it makes a difference!!

Thanks for the help guys, will update once i know i got it all sorted :icon_biggrin:

R18 should probably be on the other side of r17 if this is a hotroded, ultimate Marshall type amp

That schematic you have is correct... have you measured voltages? Some pics would be helpful..
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

I know this old, but it might be helpful to someone browsing through.

I mod MTS modules, and while building an uber module I ran into this exact same problem. The problem was I was using mallory 150's (similar to the mojo dijon caps). I looked at gutshots of a real uber and it uses a combination of Orange drop 716p, and polypropylene capacitors. Basically you need to use mostly polypropylene capacitors.

I ended up using mostly 716p's  a  mallory 150 in c10/c9 for a little warmth.

Good info! Have you tried to remove C9-22n output/coupling cap and leave just C10-2n2? Makes it tighter sounding vs fat. Put it on a switch, of course..
