So, we have in our junkbox some bunches of 1μF Electros Polarized, Electros Non Polarized and Polystyrene..

Is there any advantage for some type of them to be used in an audio path (like between stages and/or on clipping FB path of, say, a Big Muff variant..)??

Answers like " use anything is closer to your hand" will be more than appreciated..!!  :icon_wink:

if it is close to hand, but has a (-) lead that must be observed, then it is less easy to use than if it has no polarisings. no voltage measures, no polarity to get wrong. put them in, then tell people you've found a new variant of the circuit.

for series/coupling caps (in the signal path)Hi Fi makers prefer polystyrene and I think then polypropylene, and then NPs are of course better than +/- electros. You know that.

Thanks guys..!!  :icon_wink:

I'm working on a uni-box project of a Compressor + Fuzz w Octave + Fuzz (BMπ style) + Overdrive w Boost + EQ (if there is enough space for 3 additional pots) so I have to standardize all these type variants caps..

P.S.
I know blackieNYC is very fond of such "beasts" so I commit myself for a detailed presentation in time..
