Tutorial on tracing a circuit?

I would like to be able to trace circuits/effects pedals. Is there any easy to follow tutorial available anywhere? (I did search/Google, but no luck.) I have a basic multimeter.

A real good tool is an extensive "database" of Common Circuits. Study ALL the schematics you can find. Break them down into sections. See how the parts in each section are connected. And how different functions are wired differently. Collector-output amplifier. Emitter Follower. The several ways to wire an op-amp. Power filters. Bias supplies. No different from learning music by listening to a lot of music, so when you hear a new track or arrangement you can break it down and put it together and cover it.
