Anyone ever build something like this into a 1590BB?  I'd love to save some board real estate and have all these tasty options in a single BB enclosure but it may be wishful thinking and painful to accomplish.  I can't justify the cost of one and could build three different pedals but would be really cool to have a consolidated design with an octave, verb and phase / chorus.

i ended up going the route of retiring my own pedals from my live board and going with all them micro sized chinese 1590a pedals to replace most of them. they work great, sound great, and i've had zero problems now running them for a year or more.
getting 40-60lbs of weight off my pedalboard alone made it worth it.

they even have a GE fuzzface FFS for like, 25 bux with free shipping!!

i hate to admit it, but i'd rather bring my giant pedalboard with a bunch of 1590a's on it than the one with all the custom shit.
i named my pedalboard bernice. she takes up enough real estate to raise cows for mcdonalds,
and prior to the micro pedals weighed over a 100 lbs. now she's about 60. my ancient guy back most def approves!!

Totally understand and have buddies doing the same thing.  I like building for the sake of seeing the fruits of my efforts and getting a better understanding of how many of these circuits work.  I think once I have built at least one of each "staple" that I want, I'll likely sell most off and build a light board with the Joyo or Mooer tiny clones.  A buddy of mine gets sweet deals on the Mooer pedals and has a nice combo of some larger multi units like the Strymon timeline with the Mooer options.  I just saw the video for the EHX Canyon, and though I think the graphic design and name are super corny, you can't argue with all of that functionality in a single small enclosure.  Really thoughtful design regarding the functionality of that tempo / half time button being used to make knobs have a second function.

mooer, donner, tom's line and god knows how many others are all the same pedal manufacturers. some of the so-called "legit" minis are THE SAME EXACT PEDAL with a big company name on them (ahem rude teamer comes to mind).

i too build for ME. some of the stuff i keep, i give away most, and sell a few here and there.

like, not to hijack the thread too much, i just built a "univibed" phase 90/45 (there's a switch so you can choose) into a plastic wah shell. since it's not a high gain circuit, i don't think i need a metal shell, and it weighs maybe 2 lbs total.
my univibe and foot controller are a combined weight of somewhere around 12-15 lbs. by ditching that dunlop piece of :poop: and using my own, i gain board real estate and shed 90% of the weight. for me, it's a win win.

i was particularly impressed with the pitch shift pedals for like 40 bux or less. and the mini ge fuzzface is right on the money. it's a tad hotter than my main FF, but in a good way... and it's npn and plays well with other pedals (as long as it's first in line)

i dunno if i could BUILD one for 25 shipped ;)

but yeah, i advise keeping the ones you build. i gotta pedal crib in my dungeon, an almost full wall bookcase crammed to the gills with 'em.

but every time i find a mini that can replace one live... i go for it.

three real reasons

weight

destruction... if they get destroyed, they're easy to replace

and it keeps the ones i've built, or my vintage ones safe from harm's way and the spilled beer zone of overzealous
drunks wandering all over the stage to sing "backups" ;)

actually, 4th reason, too... in some cases they're simply cheaper to buy than build and my admittedly deaf ass can't tell the diff between a 400 $ bootweak and a 29 dollar chinese knockoff.

maybe in the studio, such cork sniffing may matter, but live, i don't see any difference at all. just easier at load out at 2 am. ;)
