I built a SHecho. I love it but there is a lot of processor noise. Is there another good diy echo out there that is more modern? Thanks. JoeF.

I have a couple of populated Shecho boards but haven't wired them up.  In principle, they should be quiet, given the use of companding.  So either:
a) our respective sense of what "quiet" is differs;
b) the 8955 contributes more audio garbage than the 571 can clean up;
c) something is amiss with your build.

The PT-80  is pretty quiet, and also uses a 570/571 conpander.  However, with only a meagre PT2399 to produce delay, you aren't going to get the 800msec you get with the Holtek chip.

Thanks for the reply. Noise=switching power supply. No noise=Linear power supply. DOH! JoeF

You can reasonably clean-up a switching supply with a gyrator / capacitance multiplier. Takes a bit of trial and error usually ..
