Hey Everyone,

I'm building a switching looper system to save my feet some trouble when I'm playing gigs, to go from the clean section of my pedalboard to the overdrive section and then to my fuzz section. To save me from turning a pedal off before turning another on, I'm building a stompbox in order to do so for me.
Eg.

When A is ON              A is OFF              A is OFF
B is OFF  When  B is ON               B is OFF
C is OFF             C is OFF   When  C is ON

My question is..

What is the best way to switch between three effects in this manner with the push of only one button? Is CMOS the way to go? Or could there be a handy way to ground each effect I'm not using by pushing the switch?

Thanks in advance

Yes (probably).  Or a microcontroller: might be fewer parts (but more programming).

And welcome.  :)

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

A CD40175 will take four momentary switch inputs that will latch a coresponding output and simultaneously turn off the other outputs, so you could use three inputs to control outputs. This way you can control relays (for true bypass) or jfet switches or CMOS or whatever.
This is a little more straightforward than using a microcontroller or doing everything with discrete circuitry.
