NON-BUMP-EDIT:   :icon_lol:
- I did a re-flow of all the points on the strips.. and now I've got a normal working circuit!  I'm about to wire in the switch and LED and I'll update again!

I thought I would use a new thread rather than tag my troubleshooting on the vero thread:

Took another crack at this one lastnight.  I rebuilt a different circuit for it:

Vero:

Schematic:

Here's how I have it wired outside the box currently, omitting the LED and switch:

I used a 220R resistor instead of the 390R.  I didn't have any 390R around.  Plus from what I read this would just increase the gain of the boost a bit, and I'm ok with that.  I also have used ceramic disc caps, as that's all I had around at the time.

I've wired it up without a footswitch, direct from the board to the jacks for troubleshooting.
In to in, out to out, and the ground goes from 9v jack ground to input ground lug, output ground lug.  (Also a ground from 9v jack to the circuit ground)
The volume pot is controlling a quiet, buzzing sound.
Looked over the soldering on the board etc, looks to be no bridged lines or bad connections etc.

I've got 9v all the way down the 9v strip.

Transistor voltages:

c - 8.7
b - .62
e - .11

I've done a few clone kits, so this is my first vero build.  I was getting the same sounds/problems with the previous curcuit I built, so maybe a wiring issue? I'm making a newbie ground mistake maybe?  I'm hoping for some help so I can stop bugging the pros  :icon_redface: :icon_rolleyes:
I can grab some pics, etc if that will help.  Thanks in advance!

the simple answer is:
pics, please!
It won't work, Wayne.

Plexi

I really hate veroboards...

Everyone uses it to start, to me is a huge mistake.
It complicates everything, perhaps to avoid the printing process of a blank plate?

Is more complicated to follow and learn how each component is related, find bugs and learn to weld correctly.
In my begginings, I spent a lot of time suffering with super simple circuits in a complicated veros, didn't learning anything about.

Try to learn how to make your own PCB... and leave the veros for later.

My two cents.
To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.
