Help me cut the Treble on Sansamp Character

I purchased the VT Bass for guitar and while I like the overall tone, it's shrill on almost every setting. I took a look at the schematic and see that in the Tone-Stack, there is a 4.6n Cap bypassing the Treble Control. I'm assuming this is to make the Treble Control work like a shelf rather than a slope.

I'd like to keep the pedal, but I need to end the pain to my ears; I'm thinking of cutting this cap. Since it will be a permanent change (SMD), I wanted to check in with the experts first. Chopped schematic below:

bool

I would start with changing the C27 value (increasing slightly).

If this isn't helping enough, I would try to do the same with C19 and C18.

Perhaps changing the C18 alone would do the trick? (C19 and C27 would definitely change the character of the tone controls).

How about a small cap from output to ground? one little 5¢ part, just attach it anywhere you can before the bypass switch without taking the pedal apart

I'm all for adding or subtracting, offboard, in situations like this.  It can't hurt to try!   You'd want to try several values (someone more analytical than I can tell you WHICH values based on what they determine the output impedance to be....I'd just tack a .1uf to gnd, see what it does....then 50nF, 10nF...you get the drift).

Mike, that's what I'm thinking too. I might start with 1nF myself, then go up or down from there.
Hallofshields, because you said shrill in almost all settings, maybe you could drill a hole and put a mini toggle switch in there with the cap soldered right to the switch. Then you could have bright and dark depending on the situation.

Since it's so hard to work on, that's how I'd try to go about it...

That's good thinking. I'm going to give it a try,
