I'm building a preamp for a friend that is basically a valvecaster with an SHO and a passive di after it. He wants to power the whole pedal off of 48vDC phantom power from a mixing console through the xlr cable to reduce cables on the stage and to feed a higher plate voltage than 9-12 volts to the tube plates. I can step down the 48v down to 9v and 6.3v for the SHO and filaments but i'm not sure how to access the 48v or if i can even use that power because of the transformer. Iv'e never dealt with phantom power or di boxes before so i have no idea how to do this or if its even possible. Any help?

You "can't" power the tube heaters with the teeny power available on Phantom.*

(*) There IS a P-power tube microphone, but it is a special tube, a fancy power converter, and not an idea which could be expanded to a Valvecaster.
