fuzz designed to work as VOLUME adjustment when bypassed

I am referring to the ...umi/conrad/kimberly buzz and volume expander (fuzz).
This pedal is essentially a fuzz but is designed for the VOLUME knob to still work when it is bypassed (this is where the VOLUME EXPANDER thing kicks in i guess)

If I use true bypass switching, will it still work the same?

Schematic just uses basic switch diagram...

No, true bypass will bypass the volume control.  You could use two switches though, one for TB, the other for fuzz/volume.
