Does anyone have an idea what the heavy duty enclosure on the MXR Carbon Copy may be?  I really like the weight of it as it's much heftier than a standard Hammond 1590B.

I'm guessing it might be similar to the Mammoth 4S1590B, but that's just based on the Mammoth website description.  Has anyone used these?  How heavy duty are they?

I was wondering the same thing, from the Carbon Copy that I had.  Some kind of heavier alloy.  Don't know if it's any more "heavy duty" though.  There's a long-standing impression out there, that people equate weight with quality.  I think it goes back to older audio equipment and big, heavy transformers.  My guess is that's why MXR used the heavier alloy.  But it's nice for small pedals to have some weight as they're a little less likely to scooch around on the floor.

Good point.  That zinc alloy Hammond actually says right in the description that it's softer.
