Different Boost for a Tripple Wreck

Hey guys! Building a couple of triple wrecks again here shortly and I have a question about the boost portion. From my personal experience with it and from what I have read online, everyone hates the boost. I was wondering about replacing it with another booster but which one? I first thought of the Zvex SHO and then the LPB1 came to mind. I wanted to go with just a simple bjt instead of a fet. I don't have a lot of them in stock at the moment and really want to just get it going with what I have. Would the LPB1 be too much for it?

What do you guys think?

As my experience boosting high-gain pedals, the best result I get was using a LPB with ~22nf as input cap, and leaving the 100nf output cap.
It will boost highs avoiding over-saturating bass.
I would avoid any Mosfet there: they have their own distortion/compresion, and maybe it get some reduced good boost range before over-saturate

I don't try this pedal but what i heard demo on youtube ,the boost is on of the worst boost I heard, I think that the best result with this build should be removing the boost section and add after the distortion something like an ep booster circuit

I might try both and just make it switchable. They are both such small circuits. Hmmm.

I have out of box the Triple Wreck, I tried it with my MXR Micro Amp clone. Awesome in front and even after the Triple Wreck. If you want more gain without change the tone (not critically at least) put the Micro Amp in front, really good for me. I just wanted make some experiment with a more linear pot.

I can't try other boosters, but if you can go on.
