All of my pedals remember if they were on/off when power was disconnected except for this Boss DD-3 I bought used.

I've checked with other DD-3 owners and their pedals remember the last setting so there must be something wrong with mine.

I've found the diagram online but I don't know which section of the diagram is responsible for this.
Can anyone help?

In my experience, boss pedals have no way to store the on/off state before they were disconnected.

The mechanism boss is using for switching is a discrete flip-flop circuit that can either be on or off at the time the pedal is powered up. Whether it starts on the on or off state is purely random depending on the tolerances of the components of the flip-flop circuit.

Also, if you use a daisy chain to power up your pedals the starting state can change depending on where the pedal is positioned in the chain.

All the DD3 pedals of various versions I had in my possession or for repair started in the off state.

I hope that helps.

Actually, my DD3 is also like this.
Even if i havent had it on when I shut off the power, it always power up in on state. Funny, but no problem, in my opinion..

East enough to unbalance set a discrete flip flop to power on to a known state, post a schematic and when I should be awake (i.e. when it's not 5am) I'll get back to you, if nobody else has already
