crossover maybe before or maybe after some parallel fuzz? like maybe a fuzz for bass and a fuzz for treble but based on the same circuit. the idea is to keep the phase rotation per frequency mostly similar between fuzz channel A and fuzz channel B so when they get mixed they do not noise cancel or any excessive phaser sounds. I expect them to have some minor differences in phase rotation. I think if I run only one channel through a filter I would lose the phase relationship immediately. filter math is getting close to over my head.

does this exist? does anyone have an example schematic? any advice?

But a little bit lore developed I suppose.

Zorg have a 3 band distortion that sounds pretty good, and I can't hear any phasing effects.  They sell a completed box, kit with box, kit without box or a PCB

Designed for bass but you could run a guitar through it pretty well I think

cool. I don't know if I am ready for a 3 band system. I want to try two band first.

yeah this is pretty much what I had envisioned. I don't know if I would copy that filter design exactly. I would probably do something different. instead of two clipping diodes per channel I would lay down some fat nasty fuzz. one of the problems I anticipate is that both channels will be bright after the fuzz so there should be some way to tame the treble on one of them just to get it to sit right. maybe it will only require a master EQ after the mixer section on the output. it is too early to tell.

A hex inverter might be good for this. Imagine two tube sound fuzz circuits on one chip, one with a hpf and the other with an lpf before it, mixed at the end and high gain.

The Zorg effect has the schematic there.  I think you could use the mixer and distortion parts, and alter the crossover to give a 2 band.  It would still be pretty versatile with 2 bands I think

Bengt's Blüe Mönster?  I love it and I've not noticed any phase-related artifacts.  (It is a distortion, after all!)
